Club History

November 2004 - June 2005: The Provisional Year
In 2004 the Rotary Club of Columbia brought together four people who didn't know each other and attempted to create the first community based Rotaract Club in Maryland. Although we didn't know each other, we got along well and celebrated our first event, the donation of a tree to Howard Community College in honor of Earth Day. We also began our tradition of participating in the annual Howard County Boat Float. At the very end of the 'Rotaract Year' we were officially chartered.
