The Howard County Boat Float


The annual Howard County Boat Float takes place during the Columbia Festival of the Arts. Do you dare construct a boat from nothing but cardboard and duct tape and race it across Lake Kittamaqundi? Will you stay dry? Will you come in first? Will you win the Titanic Award?

This annual event has become a staple of the Howard County Rotaract and happens every year in June. Rotaract of Howard County has entered boats in the float every year since its inception. We have won many awards for our creations, including 1st place for the fastest boat, Pride of the Fleet, and Most Patriotic.

Monthly Outing


We typically have one official social outing a month, although many unofficial gatherings of Rotaractors occur at other times. Happy hours at local pubs, pot luck Bar-B-Que's and various holiday celebrations frequently find their way onto our calendar.

Annual Ski Trip


Each year Rotaract of Howard County organizes a ski trip to a regional ski resort. The event is district-wide and open to non-Rotaractors. This year's trip will be at the Wisp resort at Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland. The event will be held February 10-13.
