Community Projects

RYLA

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an annual event sponsored by Rotary International. RYLA is a training program for youth aged 14-30 intended to develop leadership, citizenship, and personal growth. The program serves as an opportunity to connect with youth, provide effective training experiences, encourage leadership, and recognize public service.

In Maryland, RYLA is held over Presidents Day weekend at Camp Letts near Annapolis. Each participating Rotary club sends 1-3 high school students. Rotaract has been involved in RYLA by participating as group and cabin leaders. 2007 will be our Rotaract's first experience with RYLA, and we are looking forward to a fun and productive experience!

Rebuilding Together

For the past three years, Rotaract of Howard County has partnered with our parent Rotary club, the Columbia Roatary, to help repair homes in our community. Rebuilding Together occurs each April at several homes throughout the county. Repairs have involved painting, gardening, cleaning, and much more. For more information on Rebuilding Together in Howard County, please visit the organization's web site.
